Impact and Outreach Campaign

Picture
Following Rosie’s successful festival run, our team has launched an Impact and Outreach Campaign in order to educate and inspire audiences around the United States through the story of Rosie the Riveter.

The campaign focuses on the following areas:

  • Educating audiences on the history of Rosie the Riveter and the role real women played in World War Two, as well as honoring the legacy of these 'real Rosie's'

  • Raising funds and support for The National Memorial to the Women Who Worked on the Home Front Foundation (WHFNMF)

Help Build a Memorial

to Honor the Real Rosies

Over 18 million American women kept the home front running to support World War II, taking on jobs as codebreakers, pilots, machinists, butchers, engineers, lumberjacks, farmers, and more, all while continuing to raise families and run households. The National Memorial to the Women Who Worked on the Home Front Foundation is fighting to build memorial in Washington DC to honor these tenacious and brave women, and their service to our nation. They were not only instrumental to the war effort, but they also showed the world what women were capable of, breaking down countless barriers for future generations.

What is WHFNMF?

The National Memorial to the Women Who Worked on the Home Front Foundation (WHFNMF) is a 501c(3) non-profit organization working to build a National Memorial in Washington, DC to honor the 18 million American women who worked on the home front to support the allied forces during World War II. WHFNMF is working to pass legislation to approve the memorial, while also raising funds for the memorial and planning educational programming for its visitors. WHFNMF was founded by Raya Kenney when she was still in high school, and she now runs the non-profit while earning a degree at Kenyon College.

You Helped Pass S. 181 - Now Help us Fund The Memorial!

S. 1814 or The Women Who Worked on the Home Front World War II Memorial Act is a bill sponsored by congress woman Eleanor Holmes Norton and Tammy Duckworth. The bill is to authorize WHFNMF to use private funds to install a commemorative work on federal land in Washington DC. The bill was passed in December 0f 2022 as part of the Omnibus package and signed into law in January of 2023 by President Biden!

Now, WHFNMF is focused on raising funds to get the memorial built.
National memorials in the United States are funded entirely through individual donations and receive no government funding. They will need to raise millions of dollars over the next 7 to 10 years to make this memorial a reality.

We Need Your Support NOW!

Help us fund the construction of The Women Who Worked on the Home Front World War II Memorial by donating directly to WHFNMF or by hosting a fundraising screening of Rosie.
